Bio House Ravenclaw Year 3rd Classes Ancient Runes Music Family Father, mother, both deceased Zifnab's (who wasn't called Zifnab back then) parents were working for the ministry, his father an auror, his mother a diplomat. Thus, he grew up practically on the road, changing school every few months or getting home tutoring. Yet his parents kept his existence a secret since they knew that he might get kidnapped and used against them one day, and he only knew a few wizards, all of them family, close friends of his parents or members of the ministry they trusted. He grew up mostly among muggles.That was why he became a secret keeper for some important information when the Dark Lord became more and more of a threat. He had always been exceptionally bright and overheard a lot of things already, and even if someone found out, who would expect a child to be a secret keeper? Some time later, while they stayed in China, he and his parents got captured by Death Eaters. They knew that one of the family members was a secret keeper and of course suspected the parents. Since torturing them didn't work, they tortured Zifnab instead, because, what parents can see their child hurt? But the two knew what was at stake, even more since Zifnab himself was the secret keeper and revealing that wouldn't help either of them three, so they kept quiet. And Zifnab's body just couldn't take the cruciatus, he nearly died. That was when the Death eaters decided to use a different curse, one that showed Zifnab his parents' death, again and again, one way more cruel than the last, sometimes even him being the one who killed them. He would have broken, would have told them everything he knew, but they didn't even ask him, only his mother and father. The two of them didn't see any way to end their only child's torture than to kill themselves. After the Death Eaters found them dead, they wanted to kill Zifnab, too, since he had become useless, but one of them decided to send them to the ministry as a sign of how useless it was to assign any secret keepers, because the Black Lord's followers would find them anyway. Thus, he survived, but seeing what he had seen had driven the boy insane. Since he was still secret keeper, the ministry needed a place to hide him safely, where they could ensure that he didn't tell anyone by accident or forced, and also that he didn't just die on them. And the only safe place they could think of was Hogwarts: Well guarded and one of the most observed places in the whole UK. They just told him that “Zifnab” was his real identity. Most of the time he remembers that. He has been at Hogwarts since the start of this term, and is said to be a transfer student from China. He owns a toad which he usually refers to as “my dragon” and sometimes actually mistakes for one. Before he became insane he was a fan of muggle books, so he has a large knowledge of muggle literature that he often confuses with his own and the given memories. Rokujo Miharu Roommate, and thus quite often subject to Zifnab's trying to find the other members of his current fictional group Jareth - teacher - Zifnab stays at his house over summer. |
